HEREFORD REGIONAL
MEDICAL CENTER
The Hereford Regional Medical Center (HRMC) was
first established as the Deaf Smith County Hospital in 1924. Since then, the
hospital has undergone many renovations and continues to advance with
technology. The 40 bed facility has 9 physicians with
admitting privileges, and a
qualified nursing staff and several therapists. A modern OB department and
intensive care unit have allowed HRMC to be licensed as an acute care medical
center by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Departments and services offered by HRMC are: Anesthesia Depart/ Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Cardiac/ Pulmonary Rehab Center, Emergency Dept., General and Day Surgery, Hereford EMS, Home Health Care Services, Intensive Care Unit, Internal Medicine, Obstetrical/ Gynecology Dept., Physical/ Occupational Therapy, Radiology/ Mammogram Screening, Respiratory Therapy and Work Smart.
The Deaf Smith County Hospital District is governed by a seven-member board of directors elected by voters of the District.
HEREFORD HEALTH CLINIC
The
Hereford Health Clinic located at the corner of Witherspoon and 3rd street was
the first Rural Health Clinic in Deaf Smith County. Services offered are Family
Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Minor Surgery, Treadmill Exercise Test,
Electrocardiogram, Minor Laboratory Testing, X-ray Diagnostic work-up and
Physical Therapy.

HEREFORD MEDICAL PLAZA
The Hereford Medical Plaza is conveniently located at 125 W. Park. The clinic houses both a Rural Health Clinic and Independent Practice Clinic. Services provided include Family Practice OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, and limited lab and x-ray services.
SOUTH PLAINS HEALTH PROVIDERS
South
Plains Health Providers is an income based family practice, OB/GYN clinic. It is
centrally located in Hereford at
110 N. 25 Mile Ave, Suite A . The clinic has on staff two Family Practice Physicians and a Nurse Practitioner. Also, available
within the facility is an in house class D pharmacy.
HEREFORD COMMUNITY MEDICAL CLINIC
The Hereford Community Medical Clinic located at 335 N. Miles in downtown Hereford is an independently owned clinic and is staffed by a family practice physician.
DON & SYBIL HARRINGTON CANCER CENTER
Less than an hour from Hereford, the Harrington Cancer Center offers a comprehensive array of state-of-the-art outpatient treatment, diagnostic, and research capabilities. In its battle against cancer, the Center is supported by a host of educational services.
KING’S MANOR METHODIST HOME
Located
at 400 Ranger St. provides a wide range of living arrangements for its
residents. The Manor has a unique facility for independent living with 17
cottages, 5 houses and 9 studio suites. The next level of care available is
assisted living with 22 rooms within the manor.
Westgate Nursing Home is licensed for 79 full care beds and is fully staffed by healthcare professionals in many areas. This outstanding facility is the area’s only not-for-profit, faith-based-community providing all levels of care.
HEREFORD CARE CENTER
Hereford Care Center at 231 Kingwood St. is a full health care facility. The facility is fully licensed and is certified for 80 Medicade/Medicare beds and 40private pay beds. A caring staff genuinely care for their residents and their families.
EMERGENCY SERVICES
Hereford’s philosophy of cooperation and resource
sharing extends to all of the emergency services in
our community. The Hereford fire, police, and EMS department work together to
ensure the safety of Hereford residents and visitors.
HEREFORD EMS
The
Hereford Emergency Medical Service consists of paramedics, EMT Intermediate, and
EMT Basic certified
employees.
The EMS Department covers a 1,750 square mile area
that extends into four surrounding counties.
Membership in the Panhandle Emergency Medical Service provides Service System
provides residents with access to an air ambulance evacuation service. In cases
that HRMC is not equipped to handle, critically ill persons can be air lifted
from the hospital or directly from the scene.
The Hereford Regional Medical Center has a junior affliation with health care classes offered at Hereford High School. Through the local medical facilities, students enrolled in the classes are able to gain the required clinical hours and ambulance runs to gain basic certification in CPR, & EMT training.
